We recently stayed four nights at Jo and Frank's lovely bed and breakfast. Our room was at the back of the house (top floor) looking out toward Loughrigg. The B&B is in a quiet location with easy access to shops, pubs & resturants. Frank & Jo are very friendly, helpful and always made time to chat. The house has fabulous views. We enjoyed spending late afternoons on the terrace in the back garden. The terrace had plenty of places to sit & the patio furniture had parasols which were very handy - the weather was superb. The room and ensuite (lovely toiletries) are very well equipped and immaculately clean. There is plenty of choice for breakfast. We can highly recommend the tasty full breakfast (cooked to order & on hot plates too); a great start to a day's walking on the fells. We were delighted with our choice of B&B & will return. ~ Bev O

Absolutely loved our stay at the Brantholme, Jo and Frank couldn't have been more perfect hosts, everything was catered for, the breakfasts were fantastic, loads of choice and very well presented and cooked. Such attention to detail throughout the whole house. Our ground floor room was spacious, the bathroom was immaculate, comfy large bed and our own patio outside with tremendous views every morning. Situated near the park and fields, so very quiet at night, we had the best sleep. Going out at night and it's literally a 5 minute walk and you are in the centre of town, with all the amenities you need. We would recommend Matthews Bistro, but book beforehand. Really should have tried the hot tub, missed out on a treat there, it looked stunning, overlooking the hills. Obviously we were sad to leave, and will definitely be coming back longer for our next break! If you are thinking of booking, what are you waiting for? ~ ST3 G

We recently stayed at Brantholme in Ambleside, UK and we cannot say enough about how great this place is. The room was lovely, filled with everything you need, plus lots of special touches. Jo, one of the owners, went out of her way to make us feel at home. Brantholme is family owned and their pride in ownership is reflected in the service and amenities. The location is perfect. It is just a couple of blocks from the center of town, restaurants, and shops. The garden out back overlooks a green space that is also quite nice. Parking is available on site. We would definitely want to stay here again. ~ Sam C

We’ve recently returned from the most wonderful weekend in Ambleside, staying at Brantholme B&B – and what a fantastic experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the amazing hosts, Frank and Jo, who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was absolutely spotless, beautifully kept, and incredibly comfortable – it’s clear how much care and attention they put into every detail. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight – delicious, freshly prepared, and set us up perfectly for the day ahead. The location is also ideal – peaceful, scenic, and just a short stroll into the heart of Ambleside. Honestly, we couldn’t fault a single thing. Everything was just perfect, and we felt so well looked after throughout our stay. We’ll 100% be returning – we loved it that much! We have just stayed two nights in Jo and Franks beautiful bed and breakfast. The house has wonderful views, lovely gardens including a hot tub that is available to use. There is also on site parking. The rooms are spacious, very well decorated and immaculately clean with both bath and shower en-suite. The beds are so comfortable. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and I can highly recommend the full breakfast which is very tasty and a great starter to a day in the Lakes. No need to look any further if you want to stay in Ambleside and we will definately return Thank you Jo and Frank for a lovely time. Mark and Janet. ~ Mark D

Gorgeous place run by Jo and Frank who can’t do enough for you! Lovely clean rooms, really tasty fresh breakfasts and brilliant location to explore Ambleside without having to drive. Jo and Frank welcomed us and our dog with open arms and really helped to make our stay special. Jo provided coffee and biscuits on our arrival which was a lovely touch. They provided us with lots of recommendations on places to visit, local walks and restaurants. Brilliant place to take your dog, they leave towels at the back door to wipe off muddy paws. As dogs aren’t allowed in the dining room they brought our breakfast up to our room for us which was lovely. The room was spacious and had the added bonus of a bath and a shower, lovely to have a long hot soak after a day of hiking and exploring. The back door has night time access using your room key so no need to worry about getting back for a certain time. Would 100% recommend and we will be back. Well I think we are going to call this wonderful guest house 'Yet Again' because yet again we came here a few days ago and yet again it was as fantastic as it always is and yet again Joe and Frank are the most lovely welcoming hosts you would ever hope to meet. The rooms are of a very high standard and the breakfast buffet and cooked items of choice on the menu are yet again at the top. The hot tub was a beautiful relaxing experience. We have just stayed for two nights at this wonderful B&B. This is our fifth or sixth stay & every stay is just as good as the last. Jo & Frank could not make you feel more comfortable from arriving to leaving. We have stayed in three different rooms over the past two years and they are always spotlessly clean, well decorated, nicely furnished and warm in cold weather. The breakfast is always extremely good & certainly sets you up for a day on the fells. The private parking on site is a definite bonus. Obviously we will be returning. ~ David D

The entire property is clean and well kept. The owners Jo and Frank take pride in everything they do at the Bed and Breakfast from first welcoming you at check in to wishing you safe travels on check out. The breakfast was a hearty English breakfast with good portion and Jo is keen to make sure you have everything you need. They certainly made me feel like I was at home. I will be making another trip out to the Lake District soon and will most definitely be staying with them again! ~ Jonathan F

Excellent bed and breakfast. 5 min walk to centre of Ambleside where you can get a bus to nearly anywhere in the lakes. So you can leave your car at the B & B . The owners are really friendly and obliging. We were in room 3 which had a fabulous view out the window and was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was cooked to order so was always hot. We were lucky with the weather any rain was overnight. Definitely recommend this B & B. ~ muriel s

Just had the most amazing weekend away here! Fantastic breakfast, incredibly room and the views are just Phenomenal, I would fully recommend this place to anyone wanting a romantic getaway to the lakes. This is our second visit to this wonderful B&B and already looking forward to visiting again in the future. A stones throw from the town centre and wonderful breakfast. Jo and Frank are so welcoming and friendly. Both rooms we’ve had are very nicely decorated and were spacious. We stayed here in the beginning of July for two nights. The place is absolutely spotless, the staff friendly and attentive, the views from the room amazing and breakfast delicious. Perfect Lakeland getaway. My fiancé, my little dog and I were made to feel very welcome, we were looked after very well! The bed was very comfortable, the view stunning, the bathroom luxurious and all things immaculate. The breakfast was hearty and the coffee was plentiful. ~ Daniel L

We stayed in Room 6 on the second floor - the views are worth the extra stairs! They've just opened after an 8 month refurb, so everything is brand new. Stunning views and they have lovely people running it. Good luck to them - we'd go back! ~ Gary L

Lovely place to say easy walking access to the center of Ambleside. Lovely hosts where nothing is too much trouble. Parking in front of the guest house. Staggered breakfast makes for a relaxed atmosphere. Totally recommend. ~ Simon W

We came back to Brantholme after staying here many years ago. The house is in very good condition and our room was superb .. very spacious and the bathroom was also a good size. Breakfast was superb. Would definitely recommend a stay here. ~ Ann B
